Being a 300-mile round trip, I’m not sure if we would have made the effort for this one if it wasn’t for me being on TSSC CoM. If we’d known how many traffic jams there were we definitely wouldn’t have! It took us around six hours, including a lunch stop. Once there, we queued up at the entrance for over an hour waiting to get in. But the Herald copped admirably. Once in, we were soon directed to where friends were camping. Friday evening saw us at the bar where we met up with some Norfolk folks, Colin, Trevor and Clare. We were joined the following morning by another Norfolk couple, Shaun and Jane. Norfolk members are getting out and about.
We were booked in on the Saturday morning for stewarding duties, namely helping out with the auto solo. It did at least pay for our entrance.
Saturday evening saw us back at the bar. There was a band playing, but they were a tad too noisy for the barn they were playing in, but made for some nice background music while sitting outside.
On Sunday we were invited to go into the show ring and, as it was just before we planned on heading off home, hitched up and took the caravan around.
Thankfully, the drive home wasn’t quite so bad, only taking four hours. Still a very long way to go for a weekend.
